We have the need… the need for beads. Tomorrow, Feb. 21 is Mardi Gras. Famously known as a major cultural event in New Orleans, “Fat Tuesday” is a celebration of indulgence on the eve of Lent, featuring fabulous food + flying jewelry. ⚜️

Don’t sweat it if you can’t make it down to the bayou, though. You can celebrate right here. 🎉

  • Island Soul Rum Bar & Soul Shack | It’s a party every night at this Columbia City hot spot, but there’s a special menu today and tomorrow with crawfish Monica and shrimp on grits.
  • Where Ya At, Matt | Get your king cake orders in — the food truck is baking ‘em up.
  • The Royal Room | The South Hudson Music Project takes the stage at this jazz venue Tuesday for an evening of jubilant tunes.
  • Nectar Lounge | There will be funky horns-a-plenty tomorrow night with bands like Tubaluba and the Unsinkable Heavies.
