It’s a “Barbie” world — we’re just living in it.

With the anticipated toy-based comedy coming out on Friday, July 21, it’s a great time to fantasize a bit about living in a full-sized Dreamhouse.

Even if pink isn’t Seattle’s primary color, there are plenty of blockbuster pads around town worthy of Barbie, Ken, and their assorted friends (each sold separately). Eat your heart out, Malibu.

Time to go for the goooooalll — the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 kicks off later this week, and there are several Seattle icons taking the field.

OL Reign stars Megan Rapinoe, Alana Cook, Sofia Huerta, Emily Sonnett, and Rose Lavelle are all on the US Women’s National Team (USWNT) and going for the club’s fifth title. It’ll be Rapinoe’s last run before she retires.

The tourney in Australia and New Zealand starts Thursday at midnight, but the USWNT’s first couple of matches against Vietnam and the Netherlands are at the more reasonable 6 p.m. hour.

Root on the squad at these watch parties.

From the editor
I took a trip with my wonderful wife Bonnie to Cannon Beach this weekend — and apparently just missed seeing a mountain lion on Haystack Rock. Between that and the recent Bellevue bear sightings, things are getting wild out there. Maybe it’s time for a living room-based staycation.

Drink Up Month
What I’m drinking: a few sips from Coe Cellars’ Sangiovese bought in Cannon Beach, but made with grapes grown in Walla Walla.
