Mayor Bruce Harrell has announced a series of public forums to discuss how to create a safer city. The first is planned for Thursday, March 14, 6-7:30 p.m. at the downtown Seattle Library branch. More forums will be scheduled for April.

Roses are red, violets are blue, and there’s a new multi-site public poetry installation coming soon. To round out her two-year commission, Seattle Civic Poet Shin Yu Pai will launch the series, featuring the works of several other local poets, on April 1. Her new favorite is underneath my throw blanket on the couch and — I kid you not — she does the thing where you stick your foot out from underneath the covers to cool off. It made for some of the cutest kitty paw photos I’ve ever seen.
