The countdown is on. There are T-minus six weeks until Seattle kiddos can say “so long” to school until autumn. Don’t panic, parents. We’ve got you covered with 12 local summer camps + programs for children of all ages to enjoy.
Arts
The Evergreen School Summer Program | 15201 Meridian Ave. N., Shoreline Performing arts, cross-stitching, chess, and design are some of the subjects in this eight week program.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) issued a warning that it may turn off power intermittently in some communities to avoid the risk of wildfires caused by downed power lines. Communities will get a two-day notice before power is shut off. Less than 5% of PSE’s overhead lines are in a high-risk area. (Seattle Times)
Travel
Seattle City Light has installed 25 new electric vehicle (EV) chargers across several residential neighborhoods. The Level 2 EV chargers were added at curbside locations in areas where residents likely don’t have access to off-street parking. EVs should gain ~30 miles of range per hour of charge time.
Open
Kedai Makan launched its new Belltown location at 2234 First Ave. over the weekend. The Malaysian restaurant has stayed true to its original flavors from the first Capitol Hill location with its menu offerings, like the nasi biryani, tea egg, and nasi lemak — plus cocktails, of course.

A new music venue called Baba Yaga is slated to open in Pioneer Square sometime before summer. The downstairs area will host touring artists with a capacity of 200. An upstairs cafe area serving Mexican-inspired street food should be open for guests sometime even sooner. (Seattle Times)
Real Estate
After 10 years on the market, a Mercer Island mansion sold for $14.6 million. The 15,000-sqft home at 5330 Butterworth Rd. first listed in 2014 for $26.8 million when the original owners moved to Nevada to get away from Washington’s high estate taxes. The property’s waterfront can accommodate an 85-foot yacht. (Puget Sound Business Journal)
Plan Ahead
Visit Ballard just dropped info for its Ballard Summer Cocktail Trail, where several local businesses will transform into swanky cocktail lounges with offerings designed by the Ballard Cut staff. The event lands on Saturday, June 8 from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.
Coming Soon
Top Pot Doughnuts leased a manufacturing facility in Kent that allows it to more than double its production capacity. The warehouse space at 6004 S. 190th St. will help support new Top Pot locations like the West Seattle spot planned for this summer. (Puget Sound Business Journal)
