This summer, FOMO is a no-go.

July truly signifies the start of Seattle’s summertime madness, bringing us Seattleites out of that solitary gremlin funk and back into the daylight. Grab your loved ones + that emotional support water bottle and hit the town — here are the hottest (trend-wise, stay cool out there) July events coming up near you.

Seafair (June 29-Aug. 4)

This array of summer festivities spans 10 weeks with over 40 events, including:

🦀 Ballard SeafoodFest (July 12-14)

Free live music, arts and crafts, food vendors, a beer showcase, and an enchanting after-party make up this celebration of the eclectic Ballard neighborhood and (of course) the area’s tasty seafood.

💜 Sequim Lavender Weekend (July 12-14)

Take the ferry over to the Olympic Peninsula’s Sequim Valley, where local businesses come together to celebrate lavender’s peak growing season. Shop gardening goods, gifts, and more as you bask in the sweet aromatics of the area’s fragrant beauty.

🎨 Seattle Art Fair (July 25-28)

This one-of-a-kind showcase displays works from the PNW’s vibrant arts community with galleries, artist talks, installations, and a curated selection of food and drinks available for visiting art enthusiasts.

Seattle’s arts scene just got a little trippier.

Friday, June 28, the Museum of Illusions opens its enigmatic displays and immersive experiences to curious Seattleites. The global chain is best known for its mind-bending exhibits like an anti-gravity room and a walk-in kaleidoscope

Here are some current exhibits to anticipate for your visit:
    • Illusion Rooms — Using mirrors, lighting, and dizzying patterns, these rooms defy your sense of reality (and make great photo ops).
    • Cloning Table — Table for one? Take a seat at this mirrored nook that makes it look like you’re about to conduct a meeting with, well, a bunch of you’s.
    • Holograms — Think of how it feels when that painting’s eyes follow you, then multiply it by 10.
In addition to these popular features, some rooms will showcase Seattle-specific sites like the Monorail and other beloved city structures — but with a twist, of course.
