Did you know? Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 20) is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer.

For 30 years, the MLK Day of Service has grown as more people embrace the idea that citizenship involves taking an active role in improving the communities where we live, work, and play.

Help your community while honoring the legacy of Dr. King by exploring local volunteer opportunities.

The Wrap

A headshot of Editor Alina next to text that reads her full name, Alina Hunter-Grah.
Alright, y’all. I need you to help keep me accountable. My New Year’s resolution is to try to make it to ballet class at least twice a week for the forseeable future. I’ve done it before, so I know it’s not too much. But I need to have somewhere to report back to because my goal is to finally learn how to dance en pointe, and I can’t do that if I’m not working my muscles.

So I’ll keep you all updated on my journey, because this is my first week. Send strong, calendar consistent thoughts!
