We know Seattle’s food scene sizzles, but now it’s official. Two Seattle-area restaurants landed coveted spots on Yelp’s 2025 Top 100 Places to Eat in the US. Let’s dig in — there’s a lot of delicious ground to cover here.

Aroy Mak Thai Food — No. 7

This North Seattle restaurant really took its name, which means “very delicious,” to heart. Using family recipes that have been passed down for 40 years, the owners have built a menu of crispy + deliciously seasoned chicken dishes, along with other Thai curries and soups. Yelp reviewers mentioned dishes like the Khao Soi noodles as being especially delightful.

Paju — No. 74

It’s not a surprise that this Korean restaurant, now located in South Lake Union, made it to the list of favorites. It’s been buzzed about for years by publications like “The New York Times” (which has commended Paju thrice) and “The Infatuation.” Pro tip: order the Paju fried rice, which includes squid ink + quail eggs. It’s the most talked about menu item for all of the right reasons.

Award

The Seattle grunge scene may be getting another great nod of appreciation as Soundgarden has now been nominated for a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Drink

Time to try a new coffee drink style — Koto Jelly Coffee has brought the Japanese dessert coffee jelly to Seattle, but added their own spin to the Jell-O-like treat to make it more useful for caffeination purposes. The First Hill shop also uses agar to make its jelly in order to keep its product vegan. (Eater Seattle)

Looking for love in Seattle? SEAtoday makes the perfect sidekick, and we’ve found date ideas that will help you write your love story — whether this is the first chapter or a later page.

If the way to their heart is through their stomach

Pike Place Market’s The Pink Door is frequently recommended as one of the city’s most romantic restaurants, but we encourage you to give Place Pigalle a try. French cuisine and views of the Puget Sound are sure to impress.

If you love the great outdoors

Don’t let cool weather chill the heat between you — hop in a hot tub boat on Lake Union for some steamy (but PG, please) fun.

If you want an “old fashioned”-style date

An ice cream date is just so timeless it’ll melt your date’s heart. Check out Molly Moon’s, Fainting Goat Gelato, or — if you love those classic parlor vibes — Shug’s Soda Fountain.
    The love story continues

    The Wrap

Just to add my two cents to a hot topic — Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was the only one I’ve ever planned a day around. Don’t get me wrong, Rihanna was fire. But, I’ve been a Kendrick fan since 2015 when I saw him at Bonnaroo.

The only thing I know how to compare it to is like how my dad described the crowd at a Jimi Hendrix concert — totally electric. The entire crowd moved as one giant wave like it had been choreographed. I’ve never seen anything like it since. Not even the Eras Tour.

And the man’s work is plain poetry — symbolism to the max (even when he’s dissing someone).
