Bike trails north of the Seattle Aquarium are getting ready for more bicyclists following a $45 million project. Trails are still partially open, but work is expected to wrap next summer, meaning no construction cones between you and those views. Trails are also underway at East Marginal Way South. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport travelers left their shoes on through the TSA checkpoint for the first time in nearly 20 years this week. Seattle artist Julie Speidel died in May at 83 years old. Speidel drew inspiration from ancient sculptors; she’s quoted as saying, “The makers of the megaliths knew how people would stand there and be affected... That is what I like to do: Stop you in your tracks.” (Seattle Times)
