Small Business Saturday, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and supporting small and locally-owned businesses + the impact they have in our communities, is on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The day falls between two of the biggest shopping days of the year — Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and has become an annual shopping tradition for many since its establishment by American Express in 2010.

If you’re looking to join in on the festivities this year, check out our list of some of our favorite small businesses in town — and some extra suggestions from our followers.

  • Flora & Fauna | “I love @seattleplantsandrecords !! endless plants and near endless records !!! such a cool cozy store.” — @closao.mp3
  • Timber City Ginger Beer | ‘Tis the season for fizzy drinks — check out ginger beer flavors like apricot, strawberry, or cranberry jasmine.
  • Bajón En Seattle | “Amazing food from South America,” said @onlyinsouthpark.
  • Noir Lux Candle | There’s nothing like a hand-poured candle to cozy up your space — pick one up or bring your friends to make your own in one of this biz’s guided workshops.
  • Queen Anne Book Company | Help your friends’ brains grow a little bit bigger with a variety of delightful titles.
  • fruitsuper | This shop might be a great place to start when shopping for your office gift exchange with items like orange-shaped toothpick holders, boldly colored zipper pouches, wind chime-making kits, or quirky chop stick rests.
  • Vinnie’s Wine Shop | During this time of year, it can feel like you’re on an endless hunt for a nice bottle of wine to take to a holiday party, so here’s a spot where you can find something neat for every palate.

Reminder: Shopping + supporting small isn’t limited to just this day — we love letting our local businesses shine all year long in our collection of City Guides.
