Just a couple hundred feet from where she helped make history at the Climate Pledge Arena, Sue Bird now has a street named after her following a Monday, Aug. 26 ceremony.

The updated sign, labeled Sue Bird Court, now stands at the intersection of Lenny Wilkens Way and Second Avenue North just inside the Seattle Center.

Bird spent the entirety of her 19-season career with the Storm, where she became:

  • The league’s all-time assist leader at 3,100+
  • The only WNBA player to appear in 500+ games
  • Among the top 10 scores of all time with 6,700+ regular season point
  • Winner of four WNBA championships

The team retired her No. 10 jersey in June 2023. It now hangs in the Climate Pledge Arena rafters next to Lauren Jackson’s where fans can gaze on it for years to come.
