Not to take the mural high ground here, but Seattle art fans may get a kick out of Belltown’s new, free mural festival beginning this week.

The Belltown Mural Festival seeks to re-energize the downtown community and give local artists a place to shine through a series of live paintings, happy hours, and walking tours of the neighborhood’s public art pieces.

Tuesday, Aug. 13-Sunday, Aug. 18, attendees can observe featured artists like Stevie Shao, Myron Curry, and Paul Nunn as they create in real time.

Catch these murals in action all week, but don’t miss other events like:

Mural Happy Hour | Tuesday, Aug. 13 | 5-7 p.m. | Screwdriver Bar | Celebrate the festival’s start with a drink and some mingling.

Paint Jam + Street Festival | Friday, Aug. 16 + Saturday, Aug. 17 | Various times | Bell Street Park | Watch murals materialize before your very eyes while vibing to live music.
