Highlights from Emerald City Comic Con 2022

At least some heroes wear capes. ICYMI, Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) swooped into town on Thurs., Aug. 18, kicking off a full weekend of fanfare that included celebrity guests, fun + games — and of course, cosplay galore at the Seattle Convention Center.

In addition to all the fab exhibits (and samurai sword battles), we really dug the Brick Nation Lego display. It had replicas of not only the forest moon of Endor + the “Twilight” baseball game, but also our very own Lumen Field — packed with monsters on the gridiron.

While lots of buzz is on appearances from the likes of Brendan Fraser, Billie Piper, and Freddie Prinze, Jr., we couldn’t help but also get starstruck over seeing Black Panther + Princess Peach in the flesh. That’s some solid Halloween costume inspo.

Even if you couldn’t make it to ECCC, there are plenty of more events coming up in Seattle to geek out over, including:

  • Dragonflight GameCon | Fri., Aug. 26-Sun., Aug. 28 | Bellevue Hilton, 300 112th Ave. SE | $25+ | Major gathering for tabletop gaming fans
  • PAX West | Fri., Sept. 2-Mon., Sept 5 | Seattle Convention Center | $45 | A massive video game extravaganza with tournaments + demos
  • Dungeons & Drag Queens | Fri., Sept. 23 | Broadway Performance Hall, 1625 Broadway | $20+ | A regular live performance + running campaign that’s pure, fabulous magic
