You know, pups get a lot of love in this town — but what about something for our feline friends?

Introducing Sea-Meow Con: a convention dedicated just to our pretty kitties.

The two-day event, dubbed the “biggest cat convention in the Pawcific Northwest,” is taking place Saturday, Aug. 12-Sunday, Aug. 13 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. With bingo, a cat rapper, a costume contest, tons of vendors selling treats and gifts to take home, and more feline fun, this con is sure to be the cat’s pajamas.

Oh, and the best part — yes, your fur baby can come, too.

Here are some of our favorite activities on the schedule:

  • Moshow Cat Rapper | Saturday, Aug. 12 | 12:30-1 p.m. | This performer went viral for his catchy songs featuring his whole clan of hiss-terical kitties.
  • Cat Cosplay Contest | Saturday, Aug. 12 | 5-5:50 p.m. | Wear your best cat-themed outfit or go all out and dress up as an actual kitty.
  • Cat Calling Contest | Sunday, Aug. 13 | 12:50-1:20 p.m. | Give us your best pspspspsps.
  • Best of CatVideoFest | Sunday, Aug. 13 | 5-5:30 p.m. | You’ll laugh, you’ll say “awww,” and most importantly, you’ll find that your love for the little tiger at home is burning even brighter after watching these cat videos.

What’s a cat convention without some op-purr-tuna-ties to do some snuggling?
