Created by Seattle pizza company Zeeks Pizza and Oregon’s Ferment Brewing, this collaborative PNW-inspired beer will be available to take home in seasonal tallboy cans — check out the story behind the popular brew.

Seattle’s popular pizza chain Zeeks Pizza and Oregon-based Ferment Brewing are resurfacing their collaborative, PNW-inspired beer — The Reach Pilsner.

This year, the crisp, golden lager will be available in tallboy cans as four-packs at 23 Zeeks locations + Ferment Brewing.

But what’s the story behind the brew? And how did Zeeks and Ferment collide?

It all began when the Zeeks team took a windsurfing trip to Hood River, OR and quickly became acquainted with local Ferment Brewing’s Hana Pils beer. Upon their return, the Hana Pils beer found its way into rotation at Zeeks’ locations. Thus, the dream of partnering up to make a new Pacific Northwest-inspired brew was born.

Enter The Reach Pilsner, a low ABV beer at 4.6% that blends American and German malts with a subtle finish of fruity hops.

The beer name is inspired by Zeeks’ windsurfing expeditions across the Columbia River — specifically the moment when you reach from Washington to the Oregon side.

Zeeks’ Capitol Hill location at 1830 E. Mercer St. is hosting The Reach Pilsner’s release party on Thursday, June 6, 4-8 p.m. Four Ferment beers will be on tap + the brewery’s team will be joining the fun to chat with beer fans and raise a pint to a match made in heaven — beer and pizza.
