We hope you’ve enjoyed the very beginning of Drink Up Month, but we’re ready to get to the really fun stuff.

We compiled a list of 20+ drink specials around the Seattle area from Drink Up participants for you to tour and try out. Plus, we’ve got a very cool event planned, too.

Cheers, friends.

Meet + Greet with SEAtoday

We don’t know about you, but we think we’re pretty fun. To celebrate Drink Up Month, Gabe + Alina will be hosting a Seattle-based trivia game at Trade Winds Tavern on Thursday, July 20 at 8 p.m.

Come say hi — we’ll have prizes, a special drink, and lots more of those puns you really love from us.

Special deals

We like drinks that come with a little extra somethin’, somethin’.

Copperworks Distilling Co. | Get 50% off a tasting flight when you mention SEAtoday or when you show this article on your phone.

The Fonte Bar | Try the F2 Martini and get a complimentary order of Belgian fries when you mention SEAtoday.

Fidélitas Wines | This month, $1 from every bottle of wine sold will go to the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic.

Montinore and Landlines Estates | Be the “Prince” of bubbly drinks with the Purple Rain mimosa (made with blackberries) — $1 from every one sold benefits the Woodinville Storehouse Food Bank.

Try something new

These Seattle-favorite spots are also jumping in on the fun with special drinks throughout July.

Vendemmia, Autumn, Raccolto, Haymaker West Seattle, GH Pasta & Pizza Takeover at Haymaker Eastlake | These five restaurants have created the very special SEAtoday Spritz — hey, that’s our name — with vodka, elderflower, lime, and prosecco. How deliciously boozy sounding.

Boon Boona | This local coffee chain is offering the Orange Blossom Latte Today, a mix of orange blossom syrup, espresso, and your choice of milk.

We’re still interested in expanding our list of partners, so get in touch or stay tuned for updates to this list throughout the month.

We know you all love a challenge. What fact do you think would stump most other Seattleites? If we include it during our July 20 event at Trade Winds Tavern, well, that’s just one step closer for you to winning a prize.

Bear-y important safety notice

What to do if a bear wanders into your yard

Experienced hikers may know what to do for bear encounters in the wild — but what happens when one lumbers into your front yard?

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) said that King County has seen an uptick in incidents involving bears in residential areas.

Here are some general tips for what to do if one of these living boulders wanders onto your lawn.
  • If the bear just passes through, there’s no need to report it. Just let the bear do its thing and don’t try to interact with it.
  • If the bear attacks your pet or livestock, it will need to be reported as it could become dangerous to the public. Email WILDCOMM@dfw.wa.gov, submit an online report, or call 911.
  • If it attacks you, call 911 immediately.
Otherwise, take steps to help keep bears wild and avoid attracting them to your area.
