Kids, this is the story of how I met your mother, and it was all thanks to SEAtoday.
OK, so maybe that’s not exactly how the 2000s sitcom went, but if Ted Mosby had consulted us for date night ideas, we could’ve shaved the show down to two seasons (and saved his kids a lot of time). Regardless, whether you’ve met “the one” or are hoping to impress someone new, we’ve got 18 local date night ideas that are legen — wait for it — dary.
Imagine a first kiss along the rails of the boat as the sunsets? We’re swooning for you.
Get cozy and take an evening cruise through Elliott Bay or through the Ballard Locks with Argosy Cruises.
Head down to Belltown’s performing arts venue The Crocodile and grab tickets to whatever’s on the docket. You’ll likely be pleasantly surprised.
If the way to their heart is through their stomach
Pike Place Market’s The Pink Door is frequently recommended as one of the city’s most romantic restaurants, but we encourage you to give Place Pigalle a try. French cuisine and views of the Puget Sound are sure to impress.
OK, OK — hear us out. Sometimes the pressure of a fancy restaurant can stifle conversation. Keep things down-to-Earth with a milkshake and burger from Dick’s Drive-In. Also, your car isn’t far away for a PG-rated makeout sesh.
You’ll certainly have a lot to bond about after paragliding through the sky.
Take your sweetie to watch the sunset. We have so many beautiful spots that you can essentially pick whatever backdrop you want. Check out Sunset Hill Park or Golden Gardens for watery, blue vistas. Kerry and Gas Works Parks have the best views of downtown.
Did you find out that you’re both adrenaline junkies? Take to the skies with Seattle Paragliding at Poo Poo Point. You’ll have something you both can excitedly chatter about once you touchdown again.

In keeping with the Drink Up Month spirit, we’ve hunted down some of the best boozy slushies around town whether you’re looking for classic margs, tropical concoctions, or some frosés all day.
Here’s how to cool down as the mercury rises.
Dreamland | A brunch fave, this place has two flavors on tap — a boozy blue Hawaiian with three different spirits and a non-alcoholic piña coloada.
Olmstead | This Capitol Hill hangout offers a mango frosé slushie that includes coconut and pineapple as ingredients — music to our tastebuds.
Trade Winds Tavern | The Belltown pub has a rotating menu of flavors for its machine, but they go an extra mile with color changing cups.
Hi everyone, guess what. Today’s a very big day for me, for you, and for the universe — it’s my birthday. And as a Leo in her truest form, I wanted to celebrate here a little bit with you all. Thanks for helping to make this newsletter so much fun to create. I love getting to share bits of my life with you all and it’s so much fun whenever you all share your lives back.
I feel fortunate to be connected to such a neat group of interesting people who love to learn about their city (I can make assumptions about that because you obviously like what we do here at least little bit). Hope you all are enjoying the sunshine.
Drink Up Month
What I’m drinking: Since it’s both the last day of Drink Up Month AND my birthday, bubbly can be the only option.
