All hail King Félix. Former Mariners player Félix Hernández was inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame on Saturday. At age 19, Hernández became one of the youngest pitchers ever to start an MLB game. In 2012, he pitched the team’s first perfect game. (Seattle Times)
Transit
Zoom, zoom — Sound Transit has officially decided to move forward opening eight Eastside-only Link Light Rail stations beginning in Spring 2024. The expansion is a temporary way to provide Light Rail service to the Eastside while the transit agency finishes work on the I-90 bridge. (The Urbanist)
Weather
Stay cool — the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Western Washington for Monday through Thursday, as temps are expected to reach the 80s and 90s this week. Highs should remain below temps recorded in 2021, but the temperature still poses a moderate-high health risk. (Seattle Times)

Seattle City Council has started to help the city prepare to host the World Cup in 2026. New legislation outlines the city’s responsibility in working with the Seattle International Soccer Local Organizing Committee in hosting $10 million worth of events. (Capitol Hill Blog)
