🎃 Pick the greatest pumpkin

You’ve scooped the seeds and made masterpieces out of pumpkins. Now it’s time for us to reveal the finalists for our Pumpkin Carving Contest. Check out the pumpkins below, and don’t forget to vote for your favorite.

Stabby (Get Well Soon)

Orange you glad you’re not this poor fella? The ice pick with the trace of blood is a nice, grim touch — we’ll have to keep an eye out for a seedy killer on the loose.

The Fall Unicorn

Ah, what a gourd-eous vibe. There are no signs of any carvings, but the beautiful decorations, precise paint, and serene expression transports us into an autumnal fantasy land.

Jack Skellington Smirk

We just got major chills staring at the mischievous glow of the very Jack-like jack-o'-lantern. It’ll truly give us nightmares way before Christmas.

Cats Welcome, People Tolerated

Here kitty, kitty — actually, we’re not quite sure how domesticated this character is. There’s something about that grin which says, “I’m up to no good.”

Voting closes Wednesday, Oct. 25 — so be sure to vote for the jack-o’-lantern you want to be crowned cream of the carving crop.

Filipino fast food fave Jollibee plans first Seattle location

Oh my Jolly — global fast food chain Jollibee, known for its hugely popular fried chicken, plans to open its first-ever restaurant in Seattle.

Signs advertising the future outpost at the Rainier Valley Square strip mall now cover the space formerly occupied by MOD Pizza. A spokesperson for the franchise said the new restaurant is projected to open in late 2024, but the date may move around as renovations progress.

Jollibee — which began in the Philippines 48 years ago — has 1,500+ outposts in 17 countries and is expanding steadily in the area. The Southcenter Mall in Tukwila has had a Jollibee since 2010 and another one will open in Tacoma within weeks.

Eater declared Jollibee the best fried chicken from a fast food chain in the US, but it’s also known for its spaghetti made with banana ketchup. Fans sometimes line up days before a new opening — so Bee prepared.
