Hey you — yes, you. We’re hosting our annual trivia night at Navy Strength this Sunday, July 28 at 6 p.m. and we really want you to be there.
Come grab a drink, settle in for some Seattle-based quiz questions (you can study up with last year’s quiz on our website), and get ready to bask in City Editors Alina and Madeline’s profound goofiness. We’ll have some prizes for you, too.
Mark your calendars, or we’ll include a video of us crying in that next day’s newsletter.

Seattle makes a lot of great craft beer. Local brewers are constantly tapping their creative juices to drum up crafty collaborations, standout recipes, and fun names for their frothy masterpieces.
As we celebrate Drink Up Week, we’d like to raise a glass to five Seattle-centric brews with names that draw inspiration from our city’s history, communities, and culture.
Style + flavor: This 7.2% ABV beer features flavors of grapefruit and pine, plus Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, and Columbus hops with a balancing malt body. It has a smooth, bitter finish.
Style + flavor: This 5.7% ABV New England-style pale ale is light in color and malty with soft, bready notes. The variety of hops in this one gives it citrusy, tropical, and stone fruit flavors.
Interurban
This IPA from Fremont Brewing Co. is named after Fremont’s outdoor sculpture, “Waiting for the Interurban.” The piece — created in 1979 by artist Richard Beyer and located east of the northern end of Fremont Bridge — depicts six people and a dog, paying tribute to the light rail Interurban line that connected downtown Seattle with other neighborhoods.
Style + flavor: This deep gold-colored 6.2% ABV brew boasts aromas of pine, grapefruit, orange, honey, and a hint of spice with a balanced, moderately sweet + bitter flavor profile.
Style + flavor: This 6.8% ABV brew features fruit-forward Galaxy and Mosaic hops, Lemondrop and Cascade hops for a “West Coast IPA bite,” a light malt body, and crisp finish.
Cheers to you, Emerald City.

This hearing device is not for everyone… because not everyone wants to talk to other people. (We’re sometimes in our introvert era, too.) But if you do want to have clear conversations, meet the first hearing aid designed with conversation in mind. Bonus: It’s so small, it’s basically unnoticeable.*

I had a blast hanging out with my fam in Bellingham during our annual reunion. Talk about an amazing place to enjoy clear skies and good company. I also got quite a bit of sailing in, which is always a plus.
I am, however, very sore from capsizing my sailboat on Sunday. It’s a little one-person boat that’s made to flip, so no damage to it (or me) was done. But it was a pain in the butt to re-right in the high winds. Shoutout to the guy on a jet ski who sent my family to the rescue while I wrestled with my detached boom in the middle of the lake.
