A new concept fusing crocheting and coffee is coming to Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood — Stitch Cafe aims to open this summer (with an exact date TBA).
Owner and founder Sarah Chae plans to convert the space into a mid-century modern vibe with a fair dose of grandma-esque decor (it’s all about balance). However, her main focus is to provide an inclusive gathering area for local crafters. Chae’s personal experience as an LGBTQIA+ fiber artist lends her a first-hand perspective on how to approach that goal.
As for the coffee part, Everett-based Upright Tree Coffee Roasters will be taking care of that with its locally roasted micro-batch beans.
Currently under construction, Stitch Cafe will take up residence in the storefront formerly occupied by Poco Bar & Lounge at 1408 E. Pine St.

I recently discovered that my cat hates my singing. I was queuing up my playlist of karaoke songs and starting singing along — long story short, my cat hissed at me at least eight times.
Noticeably, his hisses had more gusto when I was trying to hit high notes. Is he trying to tell me to stay in my vocal range?
