✅ Mission: Possible
FEMA designates Lumen Field as a “mission ready” venue in Seattle

Amid Hurricane Helene response efforts, FEMA and the NFL are launching a new strategy to help in times of similar disasters — and Lumen Field is part of the plan.
The public-private partnership, dubbed Mission Ready Venues, designates NFL stadiums as places capable of housing response missions during emergency situations.
Favored for their central + accessible locations, stadiums provide the ideal venue for weather crises responses and safe storage + shelter in times of need.
Lumen Field is among the first NFL venues to receive Mission Ready Venue status — as a result, the stadium will increase its capabilities to better sustain public safety and support local community.
Future uses for the stadium could include: emergency shelters, staging areas, commodity distribution sites, evacuation pick-up points, disaster recovery centers, mass vaccination and testing, temporary hospitals, and more.

Fall in Seattle has a lot going on, but personally I’m the most excited for Scarecrow Video’s “Scarecrowber” at SIFF Cinema Egyptian. There’s just something about 1960s-1980s horror films that really showcase the cozy, creepy nostalgia of Halloween season.
