Oktoberfests

Oktoberfest in Leavenworth | Fridays + Saturdays, Oct. 4-Oct. 19 | Times vary | Downtown Leavenworth | $15+ | Get ready for brats, beer, and yodeling competitions in the Bavarian-styled Washington village.

The 20th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival | Friday, Oct. 4-Saturday, Oct. 5 | 4-10 p.m. | Seattle Center | $35+ | Sip on beer straight from a several-hundred-pound pumpkin, peruse food trucks, and try beer floats served up with scoops from Bluebird Ice Cream.

Haunted Houses

Nile Nightmares | 6601 244th St. SW | Fridays-Sundays, Oct. 4-Nov. 2 | $35+ | If having too many choices is what you’re afraid of, this experience comes with access to eleven different trails and frightening adventures.

Georgetown Morgue | 5000 Marginal Way E. | Open various days, Sept. 20-Nov. 2 | $32+ | It may be hard to tell whether or not the haunts are real since this screamfest takes place in an actual (but no longer functioning) morgue.

Campfire Nightmares | Royal Arch Park | Fridays + Saturdays, Sept. 28-Oct. 27 | Various times | $20+ | The mile-long woodsy trail provides ample places for creatures to hide. Keep your head on a swivel.

Nightfall Orphanage | Fridays + Saturdays, Oct. 18-Nov. 2 | Various times | 4544 51st Place SW, West Seattle | $20+ | Your screams at this neighborhood haunt will benefit the West Seattle Food Bank and the Washington’s National Park Fund.

Stalker Farms | Fridays-Sundays, Oct. 4-Nov. 2 | Various times | 8705 Marsh Rd., Snohomish | $20+ | These haunted corn mazes drop you into the middle of your own horror movie — watch if you dare.
