Let us help you out. Pike Place Market Foundation — which supports the local market’s merchants — is celebrating its 40th birthday this weekend during the market’s annual Harvest Festival with a big ā€œparadeā€ honoring its golden mascot, Rachel the Pig.

Yes, those were disco pigs you saw traveling down the road. Here’s proof.

During ā€œPigs on Parade,ā€ nearly 50 fiberglass pigs, all designed by local artists, will line the market’s cobblestone streets. Those who pop by the festival on Saturday can vote for their favorite pig statue and enter for a chance to win three Sur la Table cookware gift baskets.
