We all knew we had some pretty solid breweries in town, but the 2021 Washington Beer Awards has just confirmed it.

Eleven Seattle breweries won awards for their beers this week for overall quality, with four of those also receiving gold medals. And of those, two were also named the best breweries of their size.

All judging decisions are made within Brewer’s Association Style Guidelines and based on blind taste tests (not a bad job to have). The 70+ category competition limits entry to ten beers per location and all beers must have been brewed within state lines.

Want to know where you can taste some of these incredible beers? Here’s a short list of the gold medal winners.

Cloudburst Brewing (Mid-Sized Brewery of the Year):

Happy Little Clouds | Lagers and Pilsner category | Gold medal |This beer also won silver in the American Beer Festival. This Is Boring | Imperial Porters and Stouts category | Gold medal
Your Worst Nightmare | Pumpkin Beers category | Gold medal

Fair Isle Brewing (Small Brewery of the Year):

Vince | Wood and Barrel-Aged Beers category | Gold medal
Montgomery | Specialty Saison category | Gold medal | This beer was brewed in gin casks using foraged larch tips in the PNW spirit.
Odelette | Belgian and French Farmhouse Ales category | Gold medal

Georgetown Brewing Company:

9 Pound Porter | Robust Porters category | Gold medal | Georgetown describes this beer as “Roasted Chocolatey Goodness.” A good pairing for the virtual chocolate festival this weekend?

Seapine:

Pilsner | German-Style Pilsner category | Gold medal
