This annual campaign encourages safe travel near work zones like the Pike Pine Streetscape improvement project or I-90 construction . It’s something that we might become especially mindful of once speed cameras are installed on local highways in 2024.
In the spirit of the week, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has some pointers if you’re driving near construction:
- Remain focused (no texting while driving).
- Read the signs and follow worker instructions.
- Slow down and don’t tailgate.
- Sharing is caring — yield space on the roads to large vehicles.
