Pop those corks, Eastsiders. Wine Walk Row in Woodinville’s Schoolhouse District just added to its rapidly growing tasting room roster — and we had the chance to sneak a peek. 🍷
Landlines and Montinore estates — known for impressive pinot noirs from Oregon’s Willamette Valley — opened a space together this week on 133rd Avenue. The cozy spot with super comfy chairs (trust us, we tested them) features flights, glass pours, and bottles from both estates, alongside menus of light snacks like tinned fish and charcuterie.
Biodyna-what? ♻️
If you go to the new tasting room, you may hear the word “biodynamic” thrown around between sips. Basically, the term refers to the methods of farming grapes through more sustainable means — like composting instead of using chemical-filled fertilizers on soil.
Both wineries produce bottles through those more natural processes. Montinore has been around since 1982 and is billed as the country’s largest biodynamic estate winery (meaning it only uses grapes grown on land it owns). Landlines is a bit of a newer operation, established in 2016 to showcase three pinots and one chardonnay from the 30-acre Tidalstar Vineyard.
Walk this way 👟
Now that the biodynamic duo has arrived, Wine Walk Row is pretty much a fully fermented and operational battle station. Let’s take a quick stroll to see what’s nearby.
- L’Ecole No. 41 | Walla Walla’s award-winning, third generation-owned winery
- Valdemar Estates | Specializing in Spanish and Washington wines
- McQueen Champagne Bar | Plenty of bubbly (and even some cocktails)
- Barnard Griffin | 40-year-old Columbia Valley winery with robust cabernets + syrahs
Date night idea ❤️
If you do a mini tasting tour, you may want to pair it with dinner and other activities within the larger Schoolhouse District development.
Book massages at Oasis MedSpa and Salon, then plan a romantic dinner at Walla Walla Steak Co., or hit the taproom at Crossbuck Brewery. It’s all just a two-minute walk from Wine Walk Row — so pour it on.
