AUGMENT brings augmented reality art to Seattle

No, your eyes don’t deceive you.

AUGMENT Seattle from Future Artsan immersive, augmented reality art showcase — is on display through Sun., Aug. 28 around Ninth Avenue + Thomas Street in South Lake Union. And it features some truly mind-blowing visuals.

Featuring images of native plants blooming into the sidewalks + holographic fish swimming around SLU office buildings, AUGMENT highlights digital storytelling from artists around the world with your cell phone as the main canvas.

The free outdoor installations are viewed via QR codes that direct you to Instagram filters — the streetscapes are then transformed right in front of your eyes on mobile.

To quote Keanu Reeves: “Whoa.”
