If you’ve been dreaming about chocolate covered popcorn ever since SIFF Cinema announced they had purchased Cinerama — we’ve got good news for you.

The refurbished theater — dubbed SIFF Cinema Downtown — will open to the public on December 14 with a showing of “Wonka” (the new Timothée Chalamet adaptation).

Tickets aren’t on sale yet, but we know more about all the bells and whistles that are coming. Expect:

  • The return of your favorite chocolate popcorn snack, as well as concessions from local businesses like Rachel’s Ginger Beer, Yonder Cider, and Black Raven Brewing Co.
  • An art display by the Museum of Pop Culture
  • SIFF merchandise for sale (including chocolate popcorn hats)
  • Reserved seating
  • Fancy A/V capabilities like laser projection and immersive audio systems

Stay tuned to SIFF’s official Instagram and website for more updates as opening night gets closer.
