Let us paint you a quick picture.

It’s a perfectly good Friday night and you don’t have any Saturday plans or obligations. You’ve got tons of energy and you just want to get out, but the idea of sitting at a bar somewhere just sounds... well, kinda boring.

I mean, don’t get us wrong — we love a good old fashioned with friends. But there’s gotta be something else to do out there besides drinking, right?

Right. Here are some local picks for when late-night adventure calls.

Burn off that energy 🛼

We’ve all had a cup of coffee just a little too late in the day. If you’re feeling extra jittery or even just a little playful, Southgate Roller Rink (open until midnight on weekends) offers skate sessions for both kids and adults with appearances from live DJs and funk bands.

If you’re wanting to keep on with the winter vibes, the Seattle Kraken Community Iceplex in Northgate offers lessons, public skates (open until 10:15 p.m. on Fridays), and an attached bar for your libation-ous desires.

Recreational recs 🎳

Roll out your “The Big Lebowski” dreams with some late night bowling at The Garage in Capitol Hill (open until midnight on weekends) or West Seattle Bowl (also part of the midnight crew).

Or tee up some fun with Flat Stick Pub‘s mini golf courses (open until 1 a.m. on the weekends).

Money burning a hole in your pocket? 🛍

Look, the need for retail therapy doesn’t run on a schedule. You can shop at Capitol Hill’s new Late Night Vintage Market until midnight almost every day of the week.

For the creative night owls 🎨

Studies have shown that the artsy types tend to stay up a bit later. Luckily, Seattle has an art walk going on somewhere in the city pretty much every weekend. Seattle City Gov’s website lists ‘em all out for you.

Or if you’re more of a hands-on type, Seatown Pottery is a 24-hour cermaics studio open for folks who have to get their ideas down as soon as they have them. They also do workshops if you’re new to the whole thing.

Let’s play a game 🕹

If you’re looking to keep it retro, Belltown’s Jupiter Bar (open until 2 a.m.) has a simply ginormous selection of pinball machines, multi-player consoles, and a vending machine full of small art prints and other goodies.

Or if acoustic game play is your thing, Mox Boarding House (open until midnight) has a pretty sizable library of board games for sale and testing out — of course. Plus, you can grab a meal while you’re here.

Rather immerse yourself in the action? Kirkland’s Sandbox VR gaming venue is open until midnight on the weekends, so you can kick zombie butt well into the evening.
