*Note: Personal firework usage is prohibited in Seattle and King County, but permits can be submitted for smaller ceremonial celebrations in Seattle.

Ditching the pump

Getting around without gas in Seattle, WA

Gas prices getting you down?

According to AAA, California no longer has the highest gas prices in the US... we do. *Cue the sad trombone*

The cost of gas in Washington rose 32 cents this month and now sits at an average of $4.91 per gallon statewide compared to California at $4.87. However, King County is averaging over $5 a gallon.

Luckily, there are still ways to avoid paying an arm + a leg at the pump. Here are three ways to be fuel frugal.
  • Break out the bikes: Enjoy pedaling down the Burke-Gilman Trail, which spans over 18 miles from Golden Gardens Park to 102nd Avenue in Bothell.
  • Public transit is legit: Getting around the Emerald City is easy with a plethora of bus routes + the Sound Transit system.
  • Get creative with your commute: Hunt down the best gas prices by using an app like GasBuddy or Google Maps.

Earlier this week we asked “Would you be willing to try Costco’s new sushi?”

A sushi counter is quite the step up from $1.50 hot dogs.

Wow — we’ve got an adventurous bunch (we’re with you on that). Out of those who responded, 66% of you said you were pretty excited to try the Issaquah Costco’s new in-house sushi. We also asked if there was anything else you all wish Costco offered. The popular answers included burgers and barbecue.
