What to see at Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings Film Festival

The Local Sightings Film Festival showcases the PNW’s creative communities with curated short film programs and feature films.

A 1960s-style living room setup occupies the lobby of Northwest Film Forum, complete with faux food on serving trays on the coffee table, a vintage TV set, and doilies adorning the surfaces.

In addition to his songs, hip-hop artist Fantasy A wrote an autobiography and sci-fi novels.

Prep those projectors. This week, Northwest Film Forum (NWFF) is hosting its 27th annual Local Sightings Film Festival, an in-person and virtual showcase of creators from the PNW.

From Friday, Sept. 20, to Sunday, Sept. 29, the festival will be screening 50+ locally-made films, hosting workshops, and facilitating special presentations. Passes are priced on a sliding scale of $90-$150 for non-members, but you can also buy tickets to individual screenings and activities.

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come:

The Local Sightings Film Festival wraps up this month, but there are year-round opportunities to engage in Seattle’s creative community at Northwest Film Forum.
