The Northwest Chocolate Festival arrives in the Seattle area

Learn about how the dessert is made, get into the ethics of its production, and sample chocolate from around the world.

Is there any event that sounds as decadent as the Northwest Chocolate Festival? Surprise — it’s in our own backyard.

The two-day all-things cacao festival is taking place Saturday, Oct. 7-Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. In addition to offering sweet treat samples from 100+ global brands, the festival has a variety of sugary educational events.

Here are a few that we’re excited about:

Hot Fudge Sundae School | Saturday, Oct. 7 | 2-3 p.m. | San Francisco’s Dandelion Chocolate teaches techniques for building all of the necessary sundae components.
A Chocolate Never Tasted | Saturday, Oct. 7 | 1-2 p.m. | Learn about a Nicaraguan cacao producer and Massachusetts chocolate maker’s quest for new flavors.
How Professionals Taste and Evaluate Fine Chocolate | Sunday, Oct. 8 | 12-1 p.m. | You’ll be quite the expert after this masterclass.
