We all like to feel like we’re the best at something — even if that means we’re the just most humble person on the planet.
Here are some of the Guinness World Records that were either set in Seattle or by fellow Seattleites.
- Seahawks fans once held the title for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium — it even registered as an earthquake.
- In 1950, the Northgate Shopping Center set the record for tallest Christmas tree at ~212 feet.
- In 2011, the longest line of rubber ducks was made in Magnuson Park with 17,782 (a Texas Rotary club currently holds the record)..
- Four Seattle rowers became the first to ever row across the Atlantic Ocean unassisted in 2006.
- In 2013, a group of friends flew in 160,000 pounds of snow to the Seattle Center for the biggest outdoor snowball fight with 5,834 participants. Canadians now hold the title.
