Friendly competition, anyone?

We’ve got to hand it to ya, Seattle — you’ve inspired us. A few weeks ago we sent you a saucy pizza poll for National Pizza Day on February 9. And while we loved seeing how you ranked toppings and pizza crust types, we also enjoyed seeing all your pizza joint suggestions.

So, with the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments just around the corner, we’re joining the fun of bracket competitions with a face-off of our own.

Last year, y’all helped us name the best phở: Ba Bar. This year, we asked you to share your favorite pizza in Seattle. Now — thanks to you + the help of a random generator — we have the official lineup for our bracket.

Now that Bar Cotto has been named our champion, let’s go grab a slice.

Local pizza champion crowned

The votes are in. After a close battle, Bar Cotto has been named the best local pizza restaurant in Seattle by our readers with 203 votes.

Congrats, Bar Cotto.

But we’re still not quite done with all of the fun. While we’re super pumped to have a winner, there’s rarely such a thing as a bad slice of pizza. So, our friends at Proxi helped make a map of all of our finalists and the honorable mentions that received multiple nominations for our little game. Go grab a slice.

Round 1

Who’s in the running

After a whopping 75+ suggestions between last month’s poll and the second call for pizza favorites, we’ve whittled it down to the most nominated spots. Going head-to-head in the first round are:

How it works

Beginning today, we will host several voting rounds within our newsletters and social channels to determine Seattle’s best pizza. Who moves on is up to you. Vote for your favorites, and the pizzeria with more votes moves on. Simple as that. We’ll go until we have a champion, which will be announced in our Friday, March 31 newsletter. You will be able to vote once per round.

How to participate

Vote for the pizza place you’d like to see advance to round two using this poll. You can vote for all four spots or as little as one. Once we count all the votes, we’ll share an updated bracket and new poll in an upcoming newsletter.

Want to fill out a bracket to see if you can guess who will win? Download and print the image above to take the competition up a notch. If your bracket is correct, send us a photo for a shoutout + bragging rights.

Submissions

In order to get our initial lineup of eight contestants, we’ll be using some of the results from last month’s pizza poll, but would love any last-minute submissions. Tell us with this survey and stay tuned to learn how to participate in the tournament.
