Cooper is clearly ahead of the pack when it comes to his football skills.

Super Bowl, shmooper bowl. We know that the real contest everyone has their eyes on is Puppy Bowl XIX — and there’s a local star who’s ready to fetch that “Lambarky” trophy.

Seven-month-old Cooper is on Team Fluff for the New York-based event, which airs on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. on Animal Planet. And... ZOMG, awww just look at this good boy. Sorry, got distracted.

When he’s not on the gridiron, Cooper — a Seattle Humane rescue — lives in Bremerton with his moms and two dog brothers, Tucker and Max. This is his Puppy Bowl debut — and he even got some tips from the Seahawks during their training camp last summer.

Seattle Humane is hosting a watch party on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their Bellevue campus (13212 SE Eastgate Way). Expect food, drinks, crafts — and, yes, plenty of furry friends.

Gabe is based in Seattle (originally from New Jersey), and has previously been a food writer at Eater, a sports reporter, and a YA graphic novelist. You’ll probably find him scouting out the latest restaurant in town on the weekends, or strolling around the streets of White Center with his feisty pup, Armando.
