Capitol Hill Block Party is just that — a weekend-long party with some of the neatest up-and-coming artists.

A week into January is usually about the time that we all switch over from post-holiday mania into “Ugh, when does it get warm again?” mode.

So, if you need something to put pep in your step and get you pumped for the new year — here’s a list of events we’re looking most forward to in 2023.

Spring 🌸

Emerald City Comic Con | Thursday, March 2-Sunday, March 5 | Various times | Seattle Convention Center | $17.75+ | Geeks unite at one of the biggest comic conventions in the US.

“Into the Woods” | Friday, Feb. 10-Sunday, March 5 | Various times | Fifth Avenue Theatre | $119-189 | This Broadway and film hit follows several familiar fairy tale characters as their lives and stories intertwine.

Summer ☀️

Seattle PrideFest | Saturday, June 24-Sunday, Jun 25 | Various times | Capitol Hill and Seattle Center | Free | Seattle’s annual Pride month celebrations lead up to this final, blowout party and celebration honoring the LGBTQ+ community and its history.

MLB All Star Game | Tuesday, July 11 | Time TBA | T-Mobile Park | Prices TBA | The best players from across the league gather for one big game on our own home diamond after a week of festivities.

Capitol Hill Block Party | Friday, July 21-Sunday, July 23 | Various times | Capitol Hill neighborhood | Prices TBA | Past line-ups have included Lizzo, Mitski, and Lord Huron.

SeaFair | Tuesday, July 4-Sunday, Aug. 6 | Various times | Various locations | Prices vary | Seattle’s most prominent, month-long festival will kick off once again with a fireworks show — followed by the usual hydroplane races, Blue Angels flights, and lots of good food.

Fall 🍁

Bumbershoot | Dates, time, and price TBA | Seattle Center | The festival recently changed hands, but the new folks anticipate a return this year. While no details have been released, past Bumbershoots happened over Labor Day.

Fremont Oktoberfest | Friday, Sept. 22-Sunday, Sept. 24. | Various times | Fremont neighborhood | $20+ | Grab a mug of your favorite local brew and take part in chainsaw pumpkin carving — maybe not at the same time, though.
