Oh, it’s getting lit. This week, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference & Bookfair (AWP) — which is basically Comic Con for English majors — arrives at the Seattle Convention Center.
Timed with the occasion, the Seattle City of Literature
nonprofit made a lovely new map
of all the places around town with bookish history and appeal. There are 300 points on the digital version and 90 on the print edition
that’s available at indie bookstores, libraries, and other hubs. You’ll find destinations like:
- Panama Hotel and Tea House | The site of Jamie Ford’s bestselling novel “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”
- Log House Museum | Creator of the monthly literary series “Words, Writers, and Southwest Stories”
- Cascadia Poetics LAB | Home to community-driven, spoken word performances
